And I tell them: it doesn’t really matter.

Why? 

Because the issue they are having with their toddler is that he or she is very active, and possibly also defiant. 

So I say, at this point just take care of these issues.

You want to get them to:

• Run around less
• Sit down and play quietly for short periods of time
• Cause less destruction around the house
• Fight less
• Listen to instructions and obey them

And whether they end up being diagnosed with ADHD or not, you should be dealing with these issues the same way.

How?

First of all – check your toddler’s diet.  Is she eating too much sugar?  Are you using ways to even out the sugar lows and highs?

Second – are you using positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques to help your toddler learn proper behavior?

Is your toddler getting enough sleep?
