I took my son (age 4 1/2, just diagnosed a few months ago) to the state fair yesterday. My husband (what was HE thinking??? oh, I know my husband wasn't going with us! lol) gave him some root beer before we left and my son was crazy the whole day. I am usually a pretty patient parent, but when at a place like the state fair, I always worry about losing my son, and I get more tense than usual. So I wasn't as patient and got after him more than I normally would. I still wasn't one of those parents I would like to turn into children's services, but I was disappointed in myself and felt bad at the end of the day. I am blessed with a 'happy' ADHD child, and am so thankful for him, that I hate to lose my patience. Thank you for your encouraging words. I needed this!
